Part 1 – BURGERS 100 years (1925 – 2025)

It all started 100 years ago with a dream and a big dose of daring. At a time when much was uncertain, our founder, Koos Burgers, decided to follow his heart and start his own business. What started as a small family business grew into what we are today: a stable organisation with pride in our past and ambition for the future.

It all started 100 years ago with a dream and a big dose of daring. At a time when much was uncertain, our founder, Koos Burgers, decided to follow his heart and start his own business. What started as a small family business grew into what we are today: a stable organisation with pride in our past and ambition for the future.

Before Koos Burgers took over the company from his stepfather – Bakker Wagenbouw – in 1925, he had already gained years of experience in making farm carts and agricultural vehicles. He took this experience with him when building up his own company and managed to pass on his passion for making carts and vehicles to new employees. With a small team of enthusiastic coachbuilders, the company grew steadily.

Koos had a clear vision and unwavering perseverance. This led to the first big step in growth: building closed bodies. With its strategic location close to the flower auction, the customer base expanded to include companies such as Zurel from Aalsmeer.

This combination of passion, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship formed the basis for Burgers’ success story. Today, that same passion still flows through our organisation. We are grateful for what started 100 years ago and look forward with enthusiasm to the next chapters of our story.
