Part 2 – Burgers 100 Years

The combination of Passion, craftmanship and entrepreneurship is the basis for Burgers Success story.

The combination of passion, craftmanship and entrepreneurship is the basis for Burgers’ success story. Part of this craftsmanship and entrepreneurship is innovation. This is the ability to develop new products, tap into new processes and use them to enter new markets. To implement successful innovations, a number of factors are hugely important:

– The new use must offer demonstrable benefit;
– It must be effortless to use and try;
– It must be highly visible;
– There should be no teething problems once large groups of customers start using it.

Double Deck

In Burgers’ history, this has been used very successfully on a number of occasions.

After the Second World War, motorised traffic was an increasingly normal street scene and infrastructure and roads were built at a rapid pace, taking logistics movements to the next level. Burgers anticipated this development with closed bodywork construction. Then on top of this was the specialisation for flower transport with its specific needs.

Shortly after the turn of the century, more customers from the retail market came on board at Burgers. And from there the new innovation in the product emerged with the construction of the first Double Deck trailer. This proved to be a golden move and in the years that followed, Burgers took full advantage of this innovation. Customer-specific modifications have built a position in the global market that is still growing.

The technological lead coupled with the connection with our customers continuously maintains the leading position in the Double Deck market. Even today, subsequent innovations are initiated, tested and rolled out for our customers. Examples are the smart trailers, racing trailers and Double Deck trailers. Apart from the beautiful history, a bright future awaits us with this!
